Meet Marcea
Marcea Lane is a distinguished dance professional whose career began at the age of four in a small Iowa dance school. After relocating to California, she was crowned Miss Hemet in 1976, a role that introduced her to public life. Her passion for jazz dance led her to commute two hours to Los Angeles to study at Joe Tremaine’s studio, where she eventually became his teaching assistant for 17 years.
Throughout her career, Marcea has collaborated with renowned artists such as Barbra Streisand, Janet Jackson, Natalie Cole, Prince, and Michael Jackson. Notably, she performed in Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video, an experience she regards as one of her most memorable projects.
Beyond performing, Marcea has made significant contributions as a choreographer, working on projects for both Sting and Prince. She has also been involved in productions for the Academy Awards and the Emmys.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Marcea ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Marcea Activewear in 1988, a dancewear line that operated successfully for 27 years.
Currently, Marcea serves as a Master Dance Instructor with Adrenaline and Revive Dance Conventions and has initiated the Verve Dance Intensive. She continues to inspire dancers of all ages, emphasizing the importance of confidence and achievement in pursuing their dreams.
